HOT CHOCOLATE IN THE WEST INDIES
Ingredients
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- 1 Lime
- 1 tsp. coffee Bombay of Maïzena
- 1 pinch Grated nutmeg
- 1 pinch Ground vanilla
- 15 cl Water
- 20 g Cocoa powder bitter
- 200 g Sweetened condensed milk
- 50 cl Semi-skimmed milk
Instructions
- In a saucepan, pour 5 cl of water
- Wash and dry the lemon, peel the zest into a ribbon. Put it in the pan. Add the cinnamon stick, nutmeg and vanilla. Boil the water
- Pour in the milk, add the condensed milk and the rest of the water. Bring to a shudder again, stirring the mixture with a wooden spoon
- In a bowl, mix the cornstarch with a skin of water. Pour into the pan and add the cocoa powder. Stir well and stir for 10 minutes over low heat
- At the end of cooking, remove the spices and serve immediately.

Tip: Serve hot chocolate with buttered Martinic bread.
